Knowing Your Personality Type

Have you considered your personality when trying to narrow down your niche? Meyers Briggs Type Indicator, or MBTI, is the perfect personality test to see what is the best niche for you. Actually, there are a lot of tests out there on the internet that are based on the same process but are free.

Your personality is good to know. It helps you understand yourself better.

Isabel Meyers Briggs developed this personality typing based on a concept developed by Carl Jung’s, the father of analytical psychology, philosophies.

There are 16 personality types. Each consists of 4 possible traits.

Each of us have a preference of the following personality traits:

Introversion (I) or Extroversion (E)
Intuition (N) or Sensing (S)
Thinking (T) or Feeling (F)
Judging (J) or Perceiving (P)
Introverts look inside first (themselves) while

Extroverts look outside first (surroundings and others)

Intuitives focus on concepts while

Sensors focus on experiences

Thinkers focus first on the use of things while

Feelers focus first on the meaning of things

Judgers like to plan and act first while

Percievers like to explore and respond

Personality tests asks a series of questions about what you would feel, think or do in certain situations. Your answers reveal which traits you favor. All personalities are made up 16 possible combinations of 4 traits. For example, my personality is INFP.

Once you know your personality you can find out all sorts of interesting information about your personality such as what careers you would enjoy most or hate the least. 🙂 And other things, like what other personalities you might be more compatible with or least compatible with, which is helpful in jobs and relationships.

I’m not sure if this is legal here at WA, so I’ll remove it if it is not.

One of the many websites that have a free and simple (some are very extensive and costs money) is humanmetrics.com. Or, you can just Google ‘MBTI personality’ and you’ll find a plethora of sites and tests. They are a lot of fun and enlightening.

So, go see what your personality is and what career fields would be a good fit for you.

It is useful information to help decide on your niche. It has helped me.

Don’t forget to comment about what personality type you are and if you agree!
